NICK WOOSTER

A lot of photos of Nick Wooster has been knocking around tumblr recently and when you see the photos you'll probably recognise him from somewhere around the Internet. Former fashion director at Neiman Marcus Group Services, and having previously worked for names like Ralph Lauren, Nick is somewhat an icon in the world of men's fashion, his impeccably groomed style, iconic sunglasses, and mix of tailored and rugged, high cuffed slim fit suits teamed with worker boots, tattoo sleeves and slick hair, I'd say he's easily the most dapper man in fashion.

KINGS OF THE CITY

London based Kings Of The City cover Wretch 32's 'Don't Go' blending their mix of blues rock n roll, hip hop and grime into unique beats and riffs with soulful vocals. They will be doing a headline set at the Jazz Cafe, Camden on August 12th so get down if you're in the area and show your support, its set to be an amazing show.

DAZED AND CONFUSED

So I spent all afternoon outside in the sun reading some old copies of dazed and confused. In the past i've tried buying numerous magazines in an attempt to find one that i actually enjoyed reading monthly with no luck until i came across this early last year, and since then i have been buying it religiously every month. It has so much varied content, no reading about the same thing over and over again, it covers music, fashion, art & culture, lifestyle, photography and film. For instance i was going from reading about NO6 London's Adidas concept store, the history of hip hop street style and basket ball in 70s New York and rise of Nike air force 1s to experimental video bloggers 'tell no one' and underground music and film reviews with the odd fashion editorial showing off the latest trends.
Dazed's 200th issue is out in August with special guest-editor Bjork.

LOICK ESSIEN

Since hearing 'Love Drunk' last year on one of Nihal's late night radio one slots i've been a fan of Loick Essien, he has an incredible voice and i'm glad to see him back in the charts at number 5 with this song featuring Tanya Lacey. Get the single now from http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/how-we-roll-feat.-tanya-lacey/id437781126?affId=1277383

HOLOCENE (IPSO REMIX) - BON IVER

Bon Iver - Holocene (Ipso Remix) by ipso

When i saw the words dubstep alongside Bon Iver, i immediately thought that they would be using big drops and bass to totally destroy the ambience of the song, but Ipso has remixed this perfectly giving it a chillstep feel whilst keeping the song delicate, i love this remix. http://soundcloud.com/ipsotheque

STONE RINGS

When i last went down to london a few months ago, i went to camden market and came across the most amazing little stall. It was a jewellery stall filled with the most incredible hand carved rings and pendants made out of  various precious stones from all over the world. I remember there was an amazing jet ring with a really detailed wolf head carved out of it, on a silver band which was around the £150 mark and beautiful turquoise stones on gold bands, retailing around £70 as these were made from expensive materials, but i've seen so many stone rings around in high street shops that are just as nice and bought a turquoise stone ring with detailed gold frame today for £10 that was just as nice as the ones i saw in london. River island have had some nice ones in the past few months and the turquoise stone rings seem to be popular with the ethnic trend with tan bags and aztec prints this summer yet the top ones have to be from Marcia Moran and YSL.
Marcia Moran Rectangular Agate Drusy Ring - £79
YSL Arty Metal Ring  by Yves Saint Laurent - £119

Black Agate Stone Ring by River Island - £10.00
ASOS Rugged Stone Ring £10.00
Large Stone And Chain Ring by Topshop - £14.00
Jade crackle stone ring by Dorothy Perkins - £8.50

King Of Tapestry

So even though its summer, the tapestry trend is still hanging about, and will probably come back just as strong coming into A/W with stiff pleats and bell bottoms and other 70's fashion coming into trend, the dark colours of tapestry patterns on bags and shoes especially seem to fit the vintage style.
I've found beautiful examples of tapestry fashion online, especially from urban outfitters, with a pair of tan brogues with tapestry panelling which my friend bought, but they seem to have taken them off their website now, yet have made up for it with this pleated skirt, bang on trend with the pleats and autumn colours.
Pins & Needles Tapestry Button-Down Skirt £40.00
Also appearing in menswear, To-orist's Denim Tapestry Shirt £300.00

Bertie Moco Tapestry Loafer Shoes in Brown by John Lewis £23.00
My favourites have to be from Jeffrey Campbell and ASOS.
I love the combination of the wooden heel and vintage tapestry pattern that create a totally fresh concept for shoes and i think you could say they're a work of art in themselves!
Jeffrey Campbell - Lita in Tapestry £125.00

I was excited to see the new ASOS magazine in the post this morning full of A/W trends and I particularly love the 40s meets 70s vintage trend which included these amazing wedges. I think its the fact that we're used to seeing the platform wedge boots typically in leather and not soft fabrics with light colours but the fresh floral pattern and super high wedge make these irresistible, i definitely have these on the top my wishlist!
ASOS ABLAZE Super High Wedge £60.00

Limit by DATE RAPE

Downtempo, electronic track from DATE RAPE. I'm feeling vibes from Burial and Goth-Trad fused into relaxing yet spine-tingling mix. Such a refreshing sound, a much needed break from all of the mainstream music i seem to be listening to at the moment. Their new 5 track EP 'Empress' is avaialable to download for free via Bandcamp - http://daterape.bandcamp.com/
